Harris Armstrong (1899-1973) was an American architect who played a significant role in the development of modern architecture in the St. Louis area. His work is characterized by the use of natural materials such as stone, wood, and brick, as well as clean lines and simple forms that integrate with the landscape. Armstrong's notable projects include the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Terminal, the Chauncey Shepherd House, and the Post-Dispatch Building. He was also a professor of architecture at Washington University and influenced several generations of architects. Additionally, Armstrong was a member of the AIA and a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome.
